Presentations in advance of the publication of the issues paper for the first joint Development Plan for Limerick City and County

Limerick City and County Council are commencing the review of the Limerick City Development Plan 2010 – 2016 (as extended) and the Limerick County Development Plan 2010 -2016 (as extended) and will be preparing the first joint Development Plan for Limerick City and County, which will be in place from 2022 – 2028. The Development Plan will set out an overall strategy for the proper planning and sustainable development of Limerick City and County for the plan period. It will set out policies and objectives to guide future development in terms of social, economic, physical and environmental needs.

The preparation and making of a new development plan is a 99-week statutory process and is proposed to commence with the publication of an issues paper for public consultation (on display for 8 weeks) on the 15th August 2020. Limerick City and County Council will be carrying out statutory consultation as required and encourage all individuals/groups to participate in the plan-making process.

The Forward Planning team of Limerick City and County Council will present to the PPN membership to outline key issues and opportunities for engagement at this stage of the plan process. Please note the issues paper is just the initial stage and seeks to identify high level issues. The 20-minute presentation followed by 10 minutes Q&A time will be presented by Limerick City and County Council staff and hosted by Limerick PPN on Zoom on the following dates:

  • Wednesday 12th August 8-8.30pm
  • Thursday 13th August 12-12.30pm
