One Million Trees in One Day runs simple and practical schemes for farmers, smallholders, communities and other landowners to establish native tree cover and woodland on their land.  

We distribute trees for woodland, hedgerow, coppice, orchard and agroforestry establishment as well as for woodland restoration and reforestation.

Trees for Schools & Colleges 2017.

Call for Land – now open.

This scheme offers native tree packs for schools and colleges to establish trees on their grounds.

Trees may be planted as small woodlands, shelter-belts, hedgerows, coppices, avenues, orchards, as individual tree and groups of trees.

If you would like to apply to plant trees at your school or college on Saturday 11th February 2017, please read these notes and follow the application process below.

Please note:

  • Applications close at midnight on Sunday 15th January 2017. Tree packs are allocated on a first come first served basis.

  • There is a new application fee of €21.00 per tree pack ordered. Please click HERE to find out why we have added application fees this season.
  • Applications are limited to 5 packs in total.
  • If you’d like to plant more than (5 packs) 250 trees in total please click HERE to apply via our Farmers & Smallholders Scheme.  Please mark your application email clearly as a school or college application.

  • Trees supplied through this scheme are young forestry whips between 1 foot and 1 metre tall depending on species.

  • All trees supplied are of certified native Irish seed provenance and are grown in Ireland.


Tree packs available for 2017:

  • Small Tree Pack:

15 mixed native trees for a trees for a small woodland area.
Species to include appropriate mixes of oak, hazel, alder, rowan, birch, crab apple and scots pine.

  • Tree Pack:

30 mixed native trees for a trees for a small woodland area.
Species to include appropriate mixes of oak, hazel, alder, rowan, birch, crab apple and scots pine.

  • Woodland Pack:

50 mixed native trees for a trees for a small woodland (Approx 1/10th of an acre) or for several smaller plots.
Species to include appropriate mixes of oak, hazel, alder, rowan, birch, crab apple and scots pine.

  • Hedge Pack:

50 mixed hedge plants for 10m or more of hedgerow or to fill gaps in existing hedges.
Species to include appropriate mixes of hawthorn, blackthorn, hazel, crab apple and oak.
