The Wheel is seeking your assistance in raising awareness for the following important workshop / information session that we will be running in Limerick on the 13 & 14 September.
The Essentials of Regulation & Governance – Targeted Training for Charity Trustees & Senior Staff
This special event has been carefully scheduled to engage both trustees (evening) and senior members of staff (the following morning) with a thorough understanding and working knowledge of the essential elements of good governance and charity regulation compliance.
Time: Trustee Evening Session (6.00pm – 8.30pm, 13 September)
Senior Staff Training Session (9.15am – 1.00pm, 14 September)
Venue: The Hunt Museum, The Custom House, Rutland Street, Limerick
Price: Evening/Day only – €55 Members/ €85 Non-Members
Evening & Day – €99 Members/€150 Non-Members
Taking the busy schedules of charity trustees / board members into account, we have established the following timing and structure for this important training event:
- Session 1:Trustee Evening Session (6:00pm – 8:30pm, 13 September)
- Session 2:Senior Staff Training Session (9:15am – 1:00pm, 14 September).
Both sessions will include an overview of the following key pieces of legislation:
- The Charities Act 2009
- The Companies Act 2014
- The Lobbying Act 2015.
In addition to this, both the evening session and the morning sessions will also provide attendees with a detailed introduction to the Governance Code, to include:
- An overview of the Code
- The 5 Principles of the Code
- An understanding of why the Code matters to our sector.
Additional: the (longer) morning session for senior staff will drill further down on this content to include a detailed look at the processes associated with adopting the Governance Code.
Both sessions will also afford participants with a fantastic opportunity to rub shoulders and network with their local peers (and the evening session will include soup and sandwiches).
