Limerick City and County Council took part in the #ourcouncilday Twitter campaign today, Tuesday, 7th March, to increase engagement with the public and to raise awareness of the services provided.

Members of the public were encouraged to join in and talk to us about the services provided to your community using the hashtags #ourcouncilday or #ÁrLáSaChomhairle.

Mayor of the City and County of Limerick, Cllr Kieran O’Hanlon, said; “Limerick City and County Council uses Twitter and other social media technologies to enhance our communication, collaboration and information exchange with members of the public, and by partaking in Twitter Day today we hope to engage with even more people and raise awareness of the many different services we provide.”

The 2016 campaign saw Limerick City and County Council’s official Twitter account, @LimerickCouncil, rank 6th place for performance on the day from a total of 2,118 accounts that contributed.

Twenty eight other local authorities are participating in this year’s Twitter Day including Dublin City Council, Donegal County Council, Mayo County Council, and Cork City Council.
