Open Call for Artists’ Studios, Limerick

 

 

Open Call October 2017 for Artists’ Studios in Limerick City and Cappamore Arts Studios

Limerick Culture and Arts Office, Limerick City and County Council, is delighted to announce two open calls for the use of Studio spaces.

  1. Recognised visual artists to apply for the use of Artists’ Studios, James’ Street, Limerick City.
  2. Recognised cultural practitioners, artists, writers and multi-disciplinary practitioners, to apply for the use of one of our Arts Studio Units in Cappamore, Co. Limerick.

The deadline for applications is 12 noon Monday 23rd October 2017

The Artists’ Studios, James’ Street is an affordable space for individuals to make work and allow artists to continue to live and work in Limerick, by encouraging working within the urban context.

There are two Studios in James’ Street available in this call out.

The Arts Studios, Cappamore Library is an affordable space for individuals to make work and allow artists to continue to live and work in Limerick County, by encouraging working within the rural context.

There is one Arts Studio in Cappamore available in this call out.

This scheme is in line with the Limerick Cultural Strategy Aim and Objective 1:

To grow Limerick’s cultural capacity by retaining and attracting creative practitioners to live and work in Limerick

Limerick School of Spectacle 2017

 

European Outdoor Arts Academy: Limerick School of Spectacle 2017
Application deadline: 12 October 2017

Invitation for applications from creative practitioners & artists from all disciplines to attend ‘Limerick School of Spectacle 2017’ – a free eight-day outdoor arts training School in Limerick, Ireland.

The European Academy of Outdoor Arts are inviting applications from creative practitioners from Limerick, Ireland to attend an eight-day school in outdoor arts production and making for installation. The school also has a small number of places available for creative practitioners in the Academie’s project partner countries Bulgaria, Ireland; Cyprus; Greece and Lithuania.

Reminder: Limerick Culture & Arts Office
International Mobility Award

 

Limerick Culture and Arts Office is delighted to announce the new International Mobility Award 2017 which will open on the 4th of September. The objective of this scheme is to encourage international mobility and opportunities for Limerick artists and creative practitioners who wish to:

  • Pursue professional opportunities
  • Tour work
  • Develop collaborative relationships and projects
  • Network
  • Attend training opportunities which support the development of their practice and provide for knowledge transfer within the cultural sector.

This scheme is in line with the Limerick Cultural Strategy Aim and Objective 1:”To grow Limerick’s cultural capacity by retaining and attracting creative practitioners to live and work in Limerick”. To support the delivery of this objective Limerick Culture and Arts Office is actively working to encourage international mobility and touring opportunities and attract international cultural productions and artists to Limerick.

There are no formal deadlines for the International Mobility Award. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis while there is an available budget. Applicants seeking support for all eligible opportunities are advised to submit their applications as far in advance of their proposed date of travel as possible, but no later than four weeks before their proposed date of travel.

Call Out to Festival Managers: Atelier Johannesburg 2018

Atelier Johannesburg 2018
23 – 29 MAR 2018 – JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA

Application deadline: 15 October 2017

The 13th edition of the Atelier for Young Festival Managers, the first in Africa, will take place from 23 to 29 March 2018, in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The Festival Academy, in partnership with the Market Theatre Foundation and the University of Witwatersrand’s School of Arts, will present the Atelier.

45 participants will be selected for the 7-day training programme during which they will discuss various aspects of festival management with up to ten renowned festival managers from pioneering festivals and outstanding art centres and institutes from all over the world.

Festival managers from across the globe are invited to apply by 15 October 2017.
