Limerick City and County Council was awarded Smarter Travel Walking Workplace of the Year, Northern Trust, Limerick was awarded Smarter Travel Workplace of the Year; University of Limerick was recognised as the Smarter Travel Walking and Cycling Campus of the Year; and Limerick ITwas awarded Smarter Travel Curriculum Development of the Year.

Partners of the Smarter Travel Workplaces and Smarter Travel Campus programme from around the country submitted entries to the awards competition which recognise and celebrate the efforts that workplaces and campuses make to promote sustainable travel.

Awards were presented in 13 categories across different modes of transport, overall workplace and campus, student projects and curriculum development. University of Limerick took the lead amongst third-level institutions, taking home the award for Cycling Campus of the Year, Smarter Travel Campus Working Group of the Year and Walking Campus of the Year.

Winners in the workplace categories included: Northern Trust, Limerick; Limerick City and County Council; and St Vincent’s University Hospital, Dublin. Winners in the campus categories included University College Dublin, University of Limerick, Waterford IT, Maynooth University, and Dublin City University.
